The finest online home cooked foods, Foodmario is a unique platform that connects home cooks with the customer. Using Foodmario’s versatile online platform, one can order food from nearby vendors and at the same time showcase the healthy cooking skills right from home and their recipes on the basis of feedback received and grow their market. The main objective of this online platform is to sell home cooked food which is ordered in online through the Foodmario and to bring the tons of opportunities to people to sell food and to create communities that come together to socialize over food and empower each other.
Rohit Tiwari is the founder of Foodmario and total 12 people are working there and they call themselves as “Foodmario”. Rohit Tiwari as CEO, Babin Paudel as operation manager, Pinky Limbu as customer service, and Nises Pokhrel on daily accounts. Remaining two are interns, one for social media other for photography. Whereas, six people work as food delivery.
Last year, when he attended the Udyami Seed Camp, he had the conversation with one of his mentors Ananta Saurabh (COO Kantipur digital corp.) on disrupting food value chain in Nepal. At that moment, an idea struck in his mind of launching online home cooked media which can provide a homely environment to customers. According to him, “We see a larger potential for housewives who choose to stay in a home, and we don’t have a shortage of such talent in our subcontinent. Although any passionate home cooks can join our platform and showcase their food.” Therefore, with the motives to approach these people and create a product having an impact on a community level, this foundation established the Foodmario which can provide the platform to showcase their talents and cooking skills.
The main motive of Foodmario is to create an online platform for home chefs with immense talent & experience with third party delivery company, taking care of delivery or cooks doing it by themselves. It especially focuses on equal opportunities to everyone irrespective of gender to earn money with social values through the available resources therein Kitchen. “We started alfa test with idea validation around 6 months from now, we haven’t officially launched ourselves fully but have delivered over 10,000 orders and do over 100 orders/ day now.
Rohit Tiwari, CEO of Foodmario said –“We have insane targets to empower thousands of home cooks in a year, and more after that.”
Foodmario has highlighted its name into the international arena as well. Recently, it has been selected by UNDP YouthCo Lab summit Bangkok to represent their startup. One of their chef was honored by Women Will, as the women making a difference. It was such an honorable achievement for them in short span of time.
